For First Grade ELA, there are 35 standards divided into four domains. Like the mathematical standards, First Grade ELA introduces brand-new lessons and concepts while building on the knowledge and skills developed throughout the Kindergarten ELA curriculum. Students will continue to expand their reading and language skills through storytelling, sounding out words, identifying unknown words, and comprehending key components of texts and stories, like characters, settings, actions, and more.
