In 2017, researchers from Columbia University’s Teachers College studied the academic impact Frontier had on 6th - 8th grade students attending Propel Schools in Pittsburgh, PA.

In their data analysis, Columbia researchers arrived at the following conclusions:

  • “Frontier leads to stronger academic outcomes, particularly among struggling students.”
  • “Increased usage of Frontier... is correlated with meeting growth targets.”
  • “Underperforming students who consistently use Frontier are significantly more likely to meet their expected growth target than underperforming students who do not consistently use Frontier.”
