Work On Challenging Problems

Q: How do you measure student learning?

“At eSpark I'm working on developing and improving the metrics for student learning. With an ever increasing number of students and constant iteration on the curriculum, we need to find a way to track the success of our content. There are many psychometric and knowledge tracing algorithms out there, but our challenge is to select and match these models to eSpark's learning roadmap”

Q: How do you scale customized app play lists for children?

“Since joining eSpark I've built systems that provide students across the country with the personalized educational apps that help them learn. Distributing content to tens of thousands of tablets set up by hundreds of districts required us to build sophisticated data gathering and problem analysis tools -- a fascinating and challenging problem to solve.”
